Nur Özgenalp

Screen Shot 2014-10-03 at 16.58.52I graduated from Mimar Sinan University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Cinema and Television. I continued my education at Film and TV Studies at Bilgi University where I also worked as a teaching assistant. My MA dissertation concentrated on film theory and psychoanalysis. In 2009, while studying at Cinema and Media PhD programme ofBahcesehir University, I became fascinated with Marxist theories, cultural studies, and cyborg theory. I taught film and media courses at Izmir University of Economicsand Academy Istanbul between 2008 – 2012. Currently, I am a PhD Candidate atAmsterdam School of Cultural Analysis, studying cultural and political transformations by examining new technologies, cross-media and serial television fiction in relation to Deleuzo-Guattarian theories and Patricia Pister’s neuro-image theory. At ASCA, I have been organising the Deleuze Reading Group since 2012 and its yearly conference since last year. Additionally, I started a film news blog for English speaking film-lovers who live in Amsterdam: CineDam – Cinema Amsterdam in November 2014.
